What is Validate in the ELEVATE method?
Validate is stage 4 of the ELEVATE method and its core. Why can’t engines quote a page written for humans?
A page written for a human reader and a page a machine can quote are two different things, and most sites only have the first. Extraction failure (the engine finding no clean, liftable passage) is one of the most common reasons pages go uncited. The GEO-SFE study (University of Tokyo & Tsukuba, March 2026) measured a 17.3% citation improvement from structural changes alone, independent of content quality.
How do you run Validate by hand?
Rewrite key pages so the answer comes first and the story second. Turn headings into the questions people actually type, state each fact plainly, and keep it identical everywhere it appears. Then add the part machines read: clearly labelled facts and schema markup, a standard way of tagging information so a machine reads it correctly.

What is the difference between AEO and GEO?
In practice they overlap: AEO targets being the direct answer to a question; GEO targets being cited within AI-generated responses. Validate improves both scores.
Will restructuring for machines make pages worse for people?
No. Answer-first pages with clear headings and short paragraphs are easier for humans to scan too; the machine layer sits invisibly beneath the page.
What is llms.txt and do engines use it?
A summary file listing a site’s key content in plain text. Its clearest proven value today is for coding and agentic tools; the citation gains in Validate come primarily from on-page structure, schema and FAQ blocks.
